Elaine Dalton ~ Former General Young Women’s President
Elaine was born and raised in Ogden, Utah. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in English from BYU. Elaine married Stephen E. Dalton in the Salt Lake Temple and they are the parents of six children. She enjoys reading, running and hiking with her family, and dancing with her granddaughters. Elaine served as the General Young Women’s President from 2008-2013 and has a deep admiration for the young women around the world.
Alex Boye ~ Singer & Performer
Alex has sold over half a million albums and has performed with Bryan Adams, George Michael, Simon & Garfunkel, N’Sync, The Backstreet Boys, Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige, and David Archuleta, among others. The former European pop star served a mission in England before pursuing his music career. Alex has made guest appearances on the CBS show How I Met Your Mother and has music on the soundtracks of movies like Charly, The Dance, and Baptists at the Barbecue. He tours with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and performed his hit Born to Be a Scout in front of 100,000 scouts at the National Boy Scouts of America Jamboree. He recently appeared on America’s Got Talent. Alex and his wife, Julie, were married in the Salt Lake Temple and reside in Utah with their children.
Al Fox Carraway ~ LDS Blogger & Author
Al is an LDS blogger, YouTuber, and speaker. She was born and raised in New York, has been a member of the church for almost six years, and has since moved to Arizona. She graduated in Graphic Design and Marketing and currently works for the Mormon Channel doing graphic design and social media. Al is sealed to her sweetheart, Ben, and they have a little girl and a baby on the way. Her passion is to tell everyone that happiness exists and it comes from this gospel. That it is real. John Bytheway ~ EFY Speaker & Author
John uses humor, insight, and wit to entertain and inspire LDS youth around the world. He combines a level-headed approach to life with a contagious love of the scriptures and their ability to help us through life’s difficulties. John holds a Master’s Degree in Religious Education from Brigham Young University and is the bestselling author of A Crash Course in Teenage Survival, Heroes: Lessons from the Book of Mormon, Standards Night Live, Isaiah for Airheads, and several other books. After serving a mission in the Philippines, John met his wife, Kimberly, and they now have six children. John is the founder of a local chapter of The Andy Griffith Show Rerun-Watchers Club and does a mean impersonation of Deputy Sheriff Barney Fife.
Hank Smith ~ Religion Professor & EFY Speaker
Hank, a native of St. George, Utah, is known for his sense of humor and spiritual insight. He served a mission in California and is now a religion professor at BYU. He earned an MBA from Utah State University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. Hank is well-known for his many Talks on CD like Do’s and Don’ts of Dating, Break Up With the World, and I Love My Friends!, all available through Deseret Book. Hank is a favorite speaker at EFY and Education Week. He enjoys running marathons and eating lots of ice cream (which is why he runs marathons). Hank and his wife, Sara, live in Mapleton, Utah with their five children.
Brad Wilcox ~ Author & Education Professor
Brad is a well-known author and speaker who uses his iconic mix of humor and directness to inspire LDS youth to improve themselves. Among his books are Raising Ourselves to the Bar, The Continuous Atonement, and the popular Annie McRae children’s series. Brad spent part of his childhood living in Ethiopia and served a mission in Chile. He earned his Ph. D. at the University of Wyoming before moving to New Zealand to direct BYU’s Study Abroad program. Brad and his wife, Debi, lived in Chile, where he served as President of the Chile Santiago East Mission. They now live in Provo, Utah where they raise their four children. Brad is an Associate Professor in the Department of Teacher Education at BYU, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in literacy and children’s literature, and serves as a member of the Sunday School General Board.
Eric Richards ~ EFY & Education Week Speaker
Eric is here today because two missionaries chose to go tracting one day in San Diego. Later, his own mission began in Honduras and ended in Alabama (due to a bone tumor). He played water polo and volleyball in college, during which time he met his wife, Megan, as they worked as EFY counselors; the two were married in the San Diego Temple and have four children. Eric’s current assignment is writing church curriculum in addition to being a Seminary Principal; in the summertime, he directs at EFY and speaks at BYU Education Week. Eric loves cooking for people, photography, remote controls, ice cream and iPhones. And, on a side note, he loves chocolate more than most women do. Most of all, he loves teaching and being with valiant Latter-day Saints. Madilyn Paige ~ The Voice Contestant & Time Out for Girls Speaker
Madilyn is a singer-songwriter who has performed for audiences throughout the United States and Canada. She was a Top-20 finalist on Season 6 of The Voice, and was also a contestant on the farewell season of American Idol. Madilyn won the “Next Big YouTuber” award at the 2015 CVX Live event, and is continuing to grow her YouTube channel. In addition to performing, she also travels and speaks to youth groups about the importance of having self-esteem, which is the message of her single “Irreplaceable”. Brooke White ~ American Idol Finalist & The Girls with Glasses Show Co-Creator
Brooke starred on the Fox hit, American Idol, earning fifth place on season seven. In 2005, Brooke released her first album, Songs from the Attic. After her American Idol appearance, she released High Hopes & Heartbreak, whose single, Hold Up My Heart, reached #47 on the Billboard Hot 100. Brooke has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Live with Regis and Kelly, and Access Hollywood. During her audition for American Idol, she caught Simon Cowell’s attention when she stated she had never seen an R-rated movie. Bella Weems ~ Origami Owl Founder
Eighteen year-old Bella is changing the face of entrepreneurship with Origami Owl, a customizable jewelry company she started at the age of 14 with a capital investment of $350 earned from babysitting. The high school graduate heads daily to the corporate headquarters where a team that numbers in the hundreds has taken over most of the day-to-day operations that are required to keep producing a line of jewelry that has realized unprecedented demand and empowered scores of women to start their own Origami Owl businesses. The oldest of five children, Bella enjoys close relationships with her siblings despite a schedule that involves attending college in the fall and a current internal internship at Origami Owl which consists of spending a few weeks in each department to learn as much as possible about day-to-day operations. In addition Bella is passionate about leading the Origami Owl Hoot Academy, a youth program for 12 to 17 year olds who can work alongside their Origami Owl Designer parent or guardian. Dr. Gregory Allen ~ Doctor & Skin-Care Specialist
Greg is the Medical Director of Deseret Aesthetic & Lifestyle Institute, Family Practitioner for Deseret Family Medicine, and President of the Shun the Sun Foundation. He specializes in skin cancer prevention and awareness, skin rejuvenation, anti-aging, and injectables. Greg was voted Top Doctor of 2009 for Phoenix Health and Wellness Magazine and has been featured on several Arizona news channels. He is happily married and the proud father of five adorable kids.
Brian Andre ~ EFY & Education Week Speaker
Brian grew up in Newport Beach, California. In high school, he met some LDS friends that were such good examples to him that he joined the Church. He served a mission in Southern Texas and graduated from BYU in Visual Communications. His best friends are his wife, Bonnie, and their four children. Brian has enjoyed serving in a variety of church callings, with one of his favorites being an early morning seminary teacher. He has spent most of his professional career working in advertising and graphic Design, but now works for the Church Educational System as a Seminary and Institute Coordinator. Brian enjoys surfing, beach volleyball, fly fishing, and Ultimate Frisbee. He loves encouraging teens to believe in the miracles and blessings of the gospel as they put their trust in and follow our Savior Jesus Christ.
Alexis Flake Arias ~ My Time to Blossom Author & Videographer
Alexis graduated Summa Cum Laude from BYU with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and now works as a videographer in Arizona. In college, she balanced news anchoring and reporting with her love of musical theater, performing with BYU’s Young Ambassadors for two years. Alexis also served as Arizona’s Junior Miss and enjoys volunteering with the Distinguished Young Woman program. No matter what she’s doing in life, Alexis makes sure to prioritize her relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Michele Baer ~ EFY Speaker & Singer
Michele’s passion is to inspire others to come unto Christ through word and music. She is a popular EFY speaker and has created four CD’s. Michele and her children perform for audiences throughout the state of Arizona. She is very involved with charities and fundraisers in her community. Michele grew up in Northern California and loves competitive cycling. Michele and her husband, Sterling, are the parents of six children.
Tricia Baird ~ Etiquette Specialist
Tricia is a graduate of Mountain View High School in Mesa. After serving an LDS mission in Salta, Argentina, she received a Master’s of Accounting from BYU and began her career working for a large firm in Boston. While in Boston, she met her husband Bret and eventually traded in tax returns for days at the park as they began a family. She has enjoyed being able to work part time as they’ve raised their five kids and especially loved the opportunity to be an on-line instructor for BYU-Idaho. Most recently she has been the H.R. Director and the Head of Payroll for Avista Senior Living Management Company. Early morning runs, family dance parties, being in the temple, and warm, homemade cinnamon rolls are a few of the things that fill her heart with joy.
Clyde Bawden ~ Composer & Musician
Clyde was a behind-the-scenes type of musician until 2013 when he partnered with fellow composer, Jason Barney, and talk show host, Glenn Beck, for the hit Christmas album Believe Again. Born and raised in Provo, Utah, Bawden later fell in love with the sunshine of Mesa, Arizona, a place where he moved his family and decided to reinvent himself, adding piano composition to a diverse résumé that already included real estate, missionary work, and education. Looking to communicate the doctrines and principles of the gospel through a concert grand and spoken word, Clyde first performed his compositions in area schools where the positive reception influenced him to carry on. He was only interested in being a solo artist, at first, but when he partnered with his son-in-law photographer, Mark Mabry, for the Reflections of Christ multimedia project in 2007, the world of arrangement and accompaniment opened wide, and then partnered with another of the project’s composers, Jason Barney, for the 2012 album Brighter Days Ahead. That same year, Glenn Beck announced he was working with Clyde on a symphony, along with a Christmas collection that also featured the work of Barney. The latter appeared in 2013 as Believe Again, an album featuring vocalists Cody Carnes, Diane Michelle, and David Osmond, which made into the Top 20 of the Billboard 200 album chart.
Tara Bodrero ~ Cancer Survivor
Tara graduated from Mountain View High School in 2008 after enjoying an outstanding high school basketball career. After a year attending BYU Idaho and soon after becoming engaged, Tara was diagnosed with grade 4 brain cancer at just 21 years of age. Despite six brain surgeries and intense chemotherapy, Tara insists she still lives the fairy tale life, Prince Charming and all. Tara’s example of fortitude and resilience shows us the grandeur of life, if we are only willing to fill our hearts with gratitude. Tara plans to finish school and become a nurse to alleviate the pain of others. She hopes to live a long, doctor-free life and be a mother to many children. Tara and her husband have one little girl.
Crystal Bowman ~ Communication & Team Building Specialist
After graduating from ASU in Corporate Communications, Crystal joined Franklin Covey. She participated in the development and presenting of custom workshops where participants develop their “deepest learnings” through a solid framework with enough room to experiment and grow. Crystal believes our youth can be prepared and more successful in their lives by participating in similar challenges, simulations, and team building games. Crystal’s teaching style is rich with hands-on activities and meaningful discussions that connect and apply to the participants’ lives. She spends most of her time now cheering on her six children in their life pursuits. Crystal continues to teach at the Mesa Arts Center, Mesa Arts Camp, Washington Activities Center, and Lifetime Fitness. In addition, she is a 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families facilitator, certified substitute teacher, and loves teaching dance.
David Bowman ~ Artist & Author
David was born and raised in the California Bay Area. He served a mission in the Philippines and graduated from BYU with a degree in Illustration. David LOVES working with the youth! He used to teach seminary full-time and currently teaches institute. David has been a counselor and teacher at numerous EFYs, youth conferences, and firesides. He wrote and illustrated the children’s Book of Mormon series titled, “Who’s Your Hero?” and his most recent kids books are “The Firmly Founded: Core LDS Doctrine Made Easy for Kids” series. He has also written and illustrated two books geared towards teenagers called, “What Would the Founding Fathers Think?” and “Dude, Don’t be a Lemuel”. David is the artist of the Christian fine art series titled “Expressions of Christ”. He lives in Snowflake, Arizona with his beautiful wife and five adorable kids (well, most of the time they’re “adorable”). David loves to golf, snow ski, long-board, camp, eat red vines, sing at the top of his lungs with the radio while driving, snuggle with his wife, and have “wrestle daddy time” with his kids.
Joyce Brinton ~ Life Coach & Author
Joyce lives in Gilbert, Arizona with her husband. She has four grown children, three are married and one is a recent BYU graduate. Her happy thoughts are six grandsons and two granddaughters; they bring her a great deal of joy. Joyce received her Master’s Degree in Counseling from BYU. She was a stay at home mom until her kids decided to grow up. Most of her work has been with empowering women to see their divine self and love who they are. In the past six years, Joyce has had the opportunity to teach at a women’s leadership academy in Henan, China called The World Academy for the Future of Women. It has become her passion and she has been five times. She will be publishing her book, “I Found Myself in China”, this year. Joyce is co-owner and teacher of the Muscle Testing Academy alongside her husband and has a life coaching practice. The majority of her work in the church has been in Young Women or Relief Society and she currently serves as a personal progress advisor. Joyce loves to teach, bike ride, hike, swim, and cook.
Lindsey Brinton ~ America’s Junior Miss & Accomplished Pianist
Lindsey was named the 2008 America’s Junior Miss and was interviewed by Diane Sawyer of ABC’s Good Morning America and Harry Smith of CBS’s The Early Show. She spent a year traveling the country speaking to youth about the Be Your Best Self program. An accomplished pianist, Lindsey won first prize at the Bartok-Kabalevsky-Prokofiev International Piano Competition and has performed at Carnegie Hall, and in Egypt and Italy. She was elected Student Body President and Homecoming Queen at West High School in Salt Lake City, and played on the tennis and basketball teams. Lindsey was named a Thomas S. Monson Presidential Scholar, the General Sterling Scholar for Utah, and State Music Sterling Scholar. Lindsey studied economics at Harvard where she played on the basketball team and sang in the University Choir. She served a mission in Sweden and is married to her husband, Dallin.

Sally is a highly acclaimed concert pianist and a former Mrs. Utah. A graduate of the world-class Juilliard School of Music, Sally has won four national piano competitions and has performed around the world, including singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Sally loves to water-ski, hike, and travel with her family. She is the mother of seven children and has 12 grandchildren.

Nicole graduated Summa Cum Laude from ASU in Educational Studies with a minor in U.S. History. She worked as a teacher and received the A-Plus teaching award. Vikki Carrel ~ Author & Empowerment Specialist
Vikki is President of Vikki Carrel and Company, author of Switching Lanes, and co-author of Chloe’s Closet. As a co-founder of Two Balance, Inc. and Mother Daughter America, she has empowered teens and adults for over 20 years. Vikki was the co-owner of a fashion production company and worked in the industry for 15 years producing events for the likes of Olivia Newton-John, GQ Magazine, and Ralph Lauren. Vikki created The Empowerment Project where she enlightens audiences about work/life balance, personal empowerment, self-advocacy, lifestyle change, personal productivity, social media, and obtaining a healthy body image. Vikki has presented seminars for several companies, including Verizon and the Girl Scouts, and is a frequent contributor on KSL’s lifestyle show Studio 5. She holds a degree in Business Administration/Marketing and is the mother of two children.
Vivian Cline ~ EFY & Education Week Speaker
Vivian, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, is a prominent speaker to both youth and adult groups around the world. Vivian has taught The Finishing Touch classes on personal grooming and social protocol and created a summer program at BYU called Polish With Pleasure. She copyrighted her own home management system and is currently the President and CEO of Executive Home Management Systems. She was the first female speaker and Director of EFY, has taught at BYU Education Week, and was selected as the Outstanding Speaker of the Year for BYU Youth and Family Programs. Vivian is a former Mrs. Utah, co-author of six books, and author of her own book titled Dating, Dining, Dancing, and Other Teen Dilemmas. Vivian and her husband, Douglas, have raised five children.
Tiffany Cook ~ My Time to Blossom Author & Wardrobe Stylist
Tiffany is a certified Fashion Stylist and the style expert for the My Time to Blossom blog. Tiffany received her cosmetology license and in 2010 graduated Cum Laude from ASU. She has styled for commercial video projects and books, coordinated fashion shows, and helped women of all ages discover their personal style. She started her styling business, Grown Up Dress Up, to share an approachable take on runway trends and instill self-confidence in women by helping them discover their individual styles. Whether she is wearing high heels for a date night with her husband or ballet flats to chase after her two sons, Tiffany is an advocate of dressing well for every occasion. Candice Copple ~ Public Administrator
Candice grew up in Gilbert, Arizona and served a mission in Spain. She graduated from BYU in Accounting and worked for a short time in Washington D.C. Candice discovered she loved teaching seminary and taught seminary and institute for seven years before returning to BYU to complete a Master’s in Public Administration. Candice’s work included coordinating large scale events, where in the process she was able to meet The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, The Blue Man Group, and David Archuleta. She currently teaches Mission Prep and feels fortunate to be involved in the public policy arena where she works for an elected official in Maricopa County. Candice sits on the Board of Constitution Week and coordinates an annual community fair. She enjoys traveling, hiking, music, scuba diving, and spending time with her family.
Debbie Forrest Dayton ~ Time to Blossom Co-Founder
Debbie Forrest Dayton is co-founder of Time to Blossom. She attended BYU where she co-founded Women’s Conference, served as the ASBYU Women’s Vice President, and was Vice President of the Intercollegiate Association of Women College Students. Debbie and her husband, Bill, were blessed with seven children. Following Bill’s passing in 2000, Debbie was recognized as the Arizona Parent of the Year and named the 2004 National Parent of the Year in Washington, D.C. She was honored as a National Embrace Life Recipient and received the BYU Service to Family Award in 2010. Debbie founded an image consulting firm, organizes fundraisers for schools and non-profit organizations, and speaks at conferences and events across the United States. She is currently in Barcelona, Spain with her husband, Merrill, who will be serving as the Mission President for three years.
Dr. Dennis Deaton ~ Author & Motivational Speaker
Dennis is a popular speaker at conferences, international meetings, and conventions, and author of five books, including Ownership Spirit: The One Grand Key that Changes Everything Else, which was the 2009 National Best Books Award Winner in the Business Motivational category. Dennis is the co-founder and CEO of QUMA Learning Systems, Inc. and Chief Designer of their most sought after seminars, including The Ownership Spirit. Stephanie Eastman ~ Time to Blossom Co-Chair & Fitness Specialist
Stephanie graduated from the University of Utah in Organizational Communications and served a mission at Temple Square. She is passionate about health and fitness and worked as a personal fitness trainer for three years prior to becoming a wife and mother. Her passion for health has led her to cultivate a love for healthy eating and exercise in her own family, and has inspired many others to want to live a healthier lifestyle. Stephanie and her husband, Paul, are the parents of three amazing children.
Emi Dalton Edgley, the only daughter of Stephen and Elaine Dalton, grew up alongside five brothers in the mountains of Utah. Just prior to her marriage to Steve Edgley, Emi graduated with honors in Business Management from the University of Utah. Emi and Steve enjoyed living in Chicago the first several years of their marriage, where Steve attended medical school and Emi advanced her career in sales and corporate communications. Emi now loves applying knowledge gained from her education and career to her life as a mother. Emi has learned through the stillbirth of her first daughter, infertility and the eventual arrival of two precious daughters, that essential to marriage and motherhood is reliance upon God for strength – both in times of sunshine and storm. Emi, Steve and their two teen daughters reside in Salt Lake City where Steve practices medicine. They love to spend time together outdoors hiking, biking and skiing.
Carol Fawson ~ Internet & Social Media Specialist
Carol served a mission at Temple Square and graduated from BYU in Information Management and from ASU with a Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction. She is the curriculum and technology consultant for iKeepSafe. Her internet safety curriculum for elementary age students has been translated into several different languages and is used around the globe. Carol’s current project, Generation Safe, assists high school and middle school administrators to create healthy digital environments on campus and is currently being used in the United States, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Hong Kong. Carol loves technology and is passionate about helping youth find happy and healthy ways to use technology. Carol and her husband, Paul, have four wonderful children.
Kiley Forrest ~ Accomplished Dancer
Kiley won a National Championship as a member of the BYU Cougarette dance team. In high school, Kiley led Mesa Mountain View’s Pom Team as Captain to a State Championship, as well as to a runner-up finish at Nationals. A star dancer, Kiley has won many national and local dance titles. She has used her dancing abilities to teach and choreograph dance. An active member of her community, Kiley earned her Young Womanhood recognition, participated in student government, and has helped raise money for local children’s charities. Kiley and her husband, Daniel, have one daughter.
Joy Gardner ~ Actress & Singer
Joy became most visible through her lead role as Laneah in The Testaments: Of One Fold and One Shepherd. A former member of Young Ambassadors, Joy graduated from BYU and now teaches contemporary singing. Joy’s roles have included Sophronia in Joseph Smith: Prophet of the Restoration, and Sister Larson in the children’s film series Liken the Scriptures. Joy was asked to workshop and originate the role of Mary, the mother of Jesus, in the musical Savior of the World. She recorded a solo inspirational CD, There is Hope, and has been a guest artist on numerous professional recordings. Joy lives in Mesa, Arizona with her husband and children.
Michelle Gifford ~ Beauty Revived Founder & Mormon Mompreneur Co-Founder
Michelle is the founder of the non-profit photography movement, Beauty Revived, that shares the stories of real women with real beauty. She is also one of the founders of Mormon Mompreneur, a podcast and website dedicated to guiding the faith-filled mompreneur to create a business that succeeds and fulfills. She lives in Southern California with her husband and five children. Michelle loves taking pictures and eating guacamole (not at the same time) and will never turn down a dance party.
Mindy Gledhill ~ Singer & Songwriter
Mindy spent most of her youth in Eureka, California, where she was shaped by a wide range of music. Mindy’s family moved to Spain when she was 13, which gave her more of an opportunity to discover more types of music and learn a second language. Mindy’s family moved to Utah three years later. Mindy became a Media Music major in college, got married, and had two very blonde boys. Her first album, The Sum of All Grace, resulted in two Pearl Awards for Best Inspirational Album and New Recording Artist in 2005, followed by Best Inspirational Song in 2006 for a compilation album. When she is not singing or touring, Mindy can be found perusing thrift stores for vintage dresses or scanning the classifieds for a potential new addition to her instrument collection.
Deborah Gubernick ~ Trademark & Branding Attorney
Jesika Henderson Harmon ~ America’s Junior Miss & Dancer
Jesika was named America’s Junior Miss in 2000 and was able to travel extensively to promote the Be Your Best Self program. She has hosted the National Preliminary and Final’s competitions and co-hosted the TV show Go For It on ABC Family Channel. She served a mission in Hungary, taught English to orphans in Zambia, and served as a grant writer and document designer for a non-profit organization. Jesika was President of the BYU Dancers’ Company and graduated with Honors in English and Dance from BYU. While living in North Carolina, Jesika started a local Distinguished Young Women program and worked for a Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency program helping underprivileged women improve their health and self-image. She now lives in Mesa, Arizona, where she teaches dance and serves as the chairman of the Distinguished Young Women of Arizona State program. Jesika loves her husband, Robbie, and their three children.
McKay Hatch ~ The No Cussing Club Founder
McKay is the president and founder of the fastest growing club in America, The No Cussing Club. The club started off with around 50 members at its first official meeting and has grown to over 50,000 members worldwide, through its website, http://www.nocussing.com. The club received an official proclamation for “A Cuss Free Week” for all of California through the first week in March. Much opposition came to McKay, his friends, and family because of this. But it was opposition that allowed the club to be featured on Good Morning America, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Dr. Phil Show, On Air with Ryan Seacrest, and much more.
Dr. Kris Heap ~ Dentist & Motivational Speaker
Kris is a dentist and motivational speaker from Mesa, Arizona. He is the creator of the popular self-improvement website Successify.net, where he gives practical advice for people looking to make positive changes in their life. Kris has traveled around the world providing healthcare services to impoverished people who don’t have access to care. His personal mission statement is, “To inspire the greatest amount of change in the greatest number of people.” He has served as the bishop of his ward and absolutely loves working with the youth. He is married to his amazing wife, Sarah, and they have four, overly-energetic children.

Annika Huish ~ Accomplished Pianist & Athlete
Annika was selected as the 2010 Arizona’s Junior Miss 1st Runner-Up, and was elected Governor at the 2009 American Legion’s Girls State event. She served as Mesa Mountain View High School’s first female Student Body President in a decade and scored in the top 1% of the nation on the ACT. She is an accomplished pianist and vocal performer. Annika was named the Student Council Officer of the Year, earned the Student Government Leadership Award, and her council won the Honor of Distinction Award. As Captain of the tennis team, Annika earned the United States Army Reserve National Scholar Athlete Award and finished in the top three of the state tournament. Annika attended BYU on a full-tuition academic scholarship and competed on the university’s tennis team.
Marianne Jennings ~ Business Professor & Author
Marianne is a member of the Department of Management in the W.P. Carey School of Business at ASU and is a Professor of Legal and Ethical Studies in Business, earning Professor of the Year accolades four times. A BYU graduate, she has authored hundreds of articles in academic, professional, and trade journals. She has six textbooks in circulation, including A Business Tale: A Story of Ethics, Choices, Success, and a Very Large Rabbit, a fable about business ethics that was chosen by Library Journal in 2004 as its Business Book of the Year. Her columns have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and Washington Post, and she has consulted for Boeing, Mattel, Motorola, Coca-Cola, IBM, and others. She has appeared on CNBC, CBS This Morning, the Today Show, CBS Evening News, and NPR. Married since 1976, Marianne has five children.
Lacey Nymeyer John ~ Olympic Silver Medalist
Lacey was named the 2009 NCAA Women’s Athlete of the Year and won a Silver Medal in the 400m Free Relay at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. Lacey has won five world championship medals, including Gold at the 2007 World Championships, and set an American record in the 800m Free Relay at the 2009 FINA World Championships. As a two-year Captain, Lacey led the University of Arizona’s swim team to its first NCAA Championship team title. A two-time NCAA national champion, Lacey has set American, NCAA, and US Open records and is a 26-time All-American. The University of Arizona awarded Lacey the Ruby Award for Top Female Student Athlete, and the Pac-10 twice named her as Swimmer of the Year. In 2010, Lacey married her husband, Chandler, in the Mesa Arizona Temple and they have one daughter.
Allison Johnson ~ Image Consultant
Allison went on a quest to find out if it really matters what you wear, and what she discovered is a resounding “Yes!”. Her passion is to teach women and men how to achieve their goals and dreams, starting with their image, through her personal and corporate image consulting company, Allison Johnson Image Consulting. Allison is a graduate of BYU and Conselle Institute of Image Management. She is a member of the Association of Image Consultants International and has worked in the image industry as a skincare consultant, fashion and image consultant, and representative for Etcetera, a line of designer women’s clothing. Allison has also worked as a fashion consultant for several local magazine photo shoots and has modeled for various local events. Allison is a wife, mother, and marathon runner.
Ashley Johnson ~ My Time to Blossom Author
Ashley is a marathon runner, pro kitchen party dancer, recipe entrepreneur, llama race blue ribbon winner, animal head paper mâché creator, and bow and boot connoisseur. She can be found playing ultimate frisbee or cuddled up with a good book. She hopes to spread joy, teach happiness, and start the occasional dance party. Ashley has been a representative at the UN and a clinic worker in Ethiopia. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from ASU and would like to return to school someday soon and complete a law degree. Ashley left a mission call in 2013 to marry her true love, Marc, and they have one little girl.
Carla Jorgensen ~ Time to Blossom Co-Founder
Carla is co-founder of Time to Blossom. She is a certified Life Coach and has facilitated seminars, conferences, and retreats. Carla is a life-long learner and has recently taken classes in non-profits, marketing, drawing, computers, ballroom dancing, karate, and improvisational acting. She married her high school sweetheart, Kyle, and they have raised five children. Carla started a jewelry manufacturing business, where her jewelry is sold coast to coast. She has been a partner in a finance company and an active member of the Board of Directors for various companies. She read over 175 books in one year while she searched for her passion, and she found that passion to be Time to Blossom. She recently served as a Service Missionary for the church and created Time to Blossom’s sister site, My Time to Blossom.
Vanessa Joy ~ International Singer
Vanessa is an international singer who has had the distinct honor of singing for the USO at the Wounded Warriors Center in Frankfurt, Germany and for the U.S. Ambassador in Cairo, Egypt. She was the guest artist with the Ensemble Vocale and Orchestra in Nesselwang, Germany in St. Andres Catholic Cathedral and the guest artist with the Concierto de Navidad in Santiago and Concepcion, Chile. Other performances include Italy, Israel, Jordan, Greece, Turkey, Central America and Canada. She has won several awards and competitions, including the National Federation of Music Festival. Vanessa was only 13 when she starred in her first Gilbert and Sullivan Operetta. She went on to receive a scholarship and graduated with a degree in Music from BYU. She has been a guest faculty presenter at BYU Education Week several times. Vanessa has shared the stage with many accomplished singers such as Grammy Award winner Billy Dean, NBA star Thurl Baily, and accomplished tenor George Dyer. Vanessa has three solo albums to her credit – Sweet By and By, The Voice, and Joy to the World – and is working on a new concept project.
Ardeth Kapp ~ Former General Young Women’s President
Ardeth is a native of Alberta, Canada and served as the General Young Women’s President from 1984-1992. She served with her husband, Heber, as he presided over the Canada Vancouver Mission and as President and Matron of the Cardston Alberta Temple. Ardeth holds a Master’s Degree in Curriculum Development from BYU. She has been a member of the Church Curriculum Planning Committee, a Board Member of the Church Educational System, Deseret Book Company, and Deseret News Publishing Company, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees for Southern Virginia University. Ardeth has written numerous books and is a favorite speaker.
Aubrey Kashiwagi ~ My Time to Blossom Author & Calligraphy Artist
Aubrey is passionate about a few things: motherhood, healthy living, and creativity. She was married to her sweetheart in the Mesa Arizona Temple in 2013 and since then has had two children who teach her everything she knows! Motherhood is her favorite blessing, and she feels that it has been her largest growing opportunity yet. Aubrey recently created a small business as a freelance calligraphy artist. She loves it because it allows her to stay home with her kids and have an outlet into the world of art! Aubrey graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Family and Human Development from ASU and says that her degree comes in handy on a daily basis. She is always striving to become her best self and is a firm believer in the eternal nature of families, which is why she has been a lifelong member of the LDS church. In her spare time, Aubrey loves to journal and blog, and she is often found telling silly jokes or dancing in the bathroom to get her family to laugh. Melissa is a wife, mom to two beautiful, adopted children, personal trainer, Arizona weightlifting record holder, ultra marathon runner, and lover of ice cream. She loves helping others find joy in physical activity and watching as her clients accomplish their goals. Melissa has learned through personal experience that being healthy directly affects one’s ability to serve others. She has been able to serve in the Young Women organization and has loved watching and helping the youth gain strong testimonies of Christ. While serving others is Melissa’s everyday mission, her favorite people to help are her family. She and her husband, Aaron, have been married for 10 years and are so proud of their kids!
Julie Lerch ~ High School Educator & Entrepreneur
Julie grew up in a small farming community in Alberta, Canada. After graduating from high school, she took a bold move by becoming an “Aupair” in Northern England. During her travels she learned to love the theatre and became fascinated with historical sites. After returning, she immediately went to BYU to pursue a degree. After two years of college she decided to take time out to serve a full-time mission and was actually called back to Northern England. After completing her mission, she completed her B.A. in Theatre Arts Education. Julie became a drama teacher in Tucson, Arizona and competed competitively. During this time, Julie founded and currently manages her own successful piano business, Creative Kids Piano Studio. She studied piano through the Royal Conservatory program in Canada where she completed and competed in all of her levels. While raising her kids, she continued her education and received an additional degree in Special Education. Julie has been actively involved as a guest speaker and director at several Girl’s Camps, Treks, Stake Road Shows, Young Women’s activities and at Stake Youth Conferences. Julie is passionate about reaching out to youth to inspire them to reach their goals and dreams and instills this in her own four children.
Emily LeSueur ~ Olympic Gold Medalist
Emily LeSueur won a Gold Medal as a member of the United States Synchronized Swimming Team at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. A native of Mesa, Arizona and an ASU graduate in Elementary Education, Emily won the 1992 U.S. Collegiate Solo Championship and the 1993 U.S. Open Solo Championship. The following year, she helped lead the United States Synchronized Swimming Team to victory in the World Cup Team Championship and in the 1995 Pan American Games and World Cup. The same year as her Gold Medal performance, Emily was named U.S. Synchronized Swimming Athlete of the Year. In recognition of her world-class achievements, the City of Mesa inducted her into the Mesa Sports Hall of Fame. Emily is married and has five children.
Krista Maurer ~ Public Relations Specialist
Krista grew up on a little island off the coast of South Carolina where she learned the importance of knowing who you are and standing strong in what you believe, even it it means standing alone sometimes. She studied Print Journalism at BYU and began her career in Public Relations at Deseret Book Company, where she oversaw media relations and marketing campaigns for recording artists including Gladys Knight, Alex Boye, Mindy Gledhill, Hilary Weeks, Kenneth Cope, and many more. Krista now works as a private marketing consultant, owns Island Belle Photo, and is a regular contributor on Utah’s popular morning show Good Things Utah. Krista served a mission in Washington state and loves dictionaries, birthday parties, fresh flowers, Christmas lights, and good seafood.
Rhea Maynes ~ My Time to Blossom Author & Investment Manager
Rhea graduated from BYU in 2013 at age 20, majoring in Neuroscience and minoring in Psychology, with plans to join the medical field. After choosing another career path, she began pursuing finance and now works for Goldman Sachs in Investment Management. With a continued love for science, Rhea volunteers at science fairs and as a Sterlings Scholar Semi-Finalist judge. In her spare time, she travels with her husband, studies basic photography, models, practices yoga, and reads. Rhea also enjoys styling, exploring world cultures, and teaching.
Melissa McCook ~ Social Media Specialist
Melissa is a third generation Arizona native. She attended Mountain View High School and went on to attend UVU and ASU. Melissa loves teaching children, ran a preschool, and was PTO Vice President of her children’s elementary school. She was a Board Member of Creighton Women’s Dental Alliance and co-founder of a private investment company. Melissa has served in many capacities in the young women organization. She enjoys design, decor, music, piano, and traveling. Melissa is happily married with four children.
Melodi Melecio ~ My Time to Blossom Author & Women’s Conference Speaker
Melodi was raised in Utah in a bilingual, Peruvian-American home. Finishing high school at age 17, she eagerly sought a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at BYU. At age 21, Melodi completed her first year as a second grade teacher, got married, had twins, and graduated! Things didn’t slow down as she went on to certify as an Emotional Release Facilitator and Montessori teacher. She loves to run every morning, read, cook, sing, laugh, and just be with her four precious kids and husband. Melodi has spoken at BYU Women’s Conference and sang at the Tabernacle on Temple Square in “Ven a Mi Casa esta Navidad,” a Spanish Christmas celebration.
Kayli Merwin ~ Tapestry Movement Founder
Kayli, a 14 year old recording artist from Arizona, had a dream and desire to “write about something that matters”. To this young singer, that meant writing about stories that moved and encouraged her. She didn’t have to look far for inspiration as family and close friends were dealing with various difficulties. Seeing the strength and courage each used to overcome these obstacles, Kayli was inspired to write their stories of perseverance and determination. The uplifting song was named “Tapestry” and became the cover song of her latest EP. Building on the hope that Tapestry would be more than just a beautiful song, a call to action was igniting within the hearts of those involved. “Tapestry Movement” soon developed with the purpose to empower those youth who are in crisis. Through social media and tapestrymovement.com, Kayli offers a platform for young people to share their unique stories and challenges as well as provide resources to (free) community outreaches. Kayli continues to share her vision and voice for Tapestry Movement valley-wide. She has just finished 8th grade and is looking forward to the new opportunities at Mountain View High School.

Sherrie has been a co-host of two international internet TV Shows with Dr. John Gray, author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus, and has been interviewed on CNN, hundreds of radio shows, and other TV and satellite broadcasts. Sherrie has been a featured speaker for Newsweek, sponsored health shows, and audiences throughout the world. She was a contributing writer for Women’s Health and Fitness Magazine and has had articles in Modern Bride. Sherrie created an international makeup line, partnered in a poetry and art company, created Beauty Boot Camp, was in charge of makeup and hair for the Miss Arizona and Miss America Pageant, and was the Empowered Leadership instructor for corporations and abused teens in group homes. Sherrie is the mother of seven children and grandmother of six.
Creg Ostler ~ Stoker Ostler Wealth Advisors Co-Founder
Creg is a managing director at Stoker Ostler Wealth Advisors. Prior to founding Stoker Ostler in 1997 with Phil Stoker, Creg spent many years in senior positions with large national financial institutions, including Harris Bank. Creg has a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Planning from BYU and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Chicago. Creg is a CFA and CFP. He is the co-founder of Inner City Youth Charitable Foundation in Chicago, a volunteer for Heifer International (an organization that provides livestock to needy families in developing countries), and serves actively in his church. He and his wife, Sondra, have seven children and 11 grandchildren.

Shye owns and operates Cookies, Cakes and Creations…by Shye. She is passionate about creating delicious desserts, scrapbooks, hair pieces, and home interior design items. She has been in crafting and boutiques for the past 20 years. She has directed Teen Elect, teaching young men and young women manners and etiquette. She has served as a Relief Society President, Enrichment Leader, Primary Teacher, and in Young Women’s. Shye loves to serve and especially loves to help young women find who they truly are. She is the mother of five beautiful girls.
Jef Rawls ~ Comedian, Actor & Charismatic Connector
Jef has been acting and performing in film, TV, video, commercials, and on stage for more than 25 years. Jef is the owner and producer of the Jester’Z Improv Comedy Show, where some of his favorite people to perform with have been the cast of Studio C, Lindsey Stirling, and Sean Astin. He is currently producing and hosting an interview show called “Inside the Laughter” and got the opportunity to interview Dick Van Dyke (from the movie Mary Poppins). Jef played the role of Judas Iscariot in the Mesa Easter Pageant and has done numerous other film projects with the Church (including Mormon Battalion in San Diego). Jef is the father of 6 kids: Jeferson Hunter, Lincoln McKay, Rosevelt Elizabeth, Pierce Monson, Ford Hinckley, and Truman Kimball.
Courtney Rogers ~ My Time to Blossom Author, Makeup Artist, & The Beauty Mark Girls Co-Founder
Courtney is a professional makeup artist and aesthetician. She has been working in the beauty industry for ten years and is trained and certified through MAC Cosmetics. She specializes in doing makeup for weddings, photo shoots, and special occasions. Courtney is one half of the duo The Beauty Mark Girls, who founded their fashion and beauty blog in 2010. She graduated from ASU with a degree in English Literature. Courtney works from home where she takes care of her sons and enjoys every minute spent with them and her husband.
Gabrielle Rush ~ My Time to Blossom Author & Makeup Artist
Gabrielle is a writer and makeup artist who makes a living managing a medical practice. She is the loudest laugher in any group and loves making friends. She is a pizza connoisseur, mix tape maestro, and a pop culture aficionado. Some might call her a know-it-all, but she prefers the term “intellectual”. Someday she will be a helicopter parent to human children, but for now she’s the mother of two cats, Lemon and Hobbes. She lives with her husband/best friend in the city where she was born, Mesa, Arizona, and someday hopes to fulfill her lifelong dream of living in the Alice in Wonderland ride at Disneyland.

Heather was born and raised in Calgary, Canada. She graduated from BYU in Broadcast Journalism and TV News. She has worked as an anchorwoman, reporter, and talk show host in New York City, Boston, Canada, Utah, Oregon, and Arizona. She is a former Miss Teen Calgary, USA National College Queen, Miss Utah, Mrs. Oregon, and Arizona’s Young Mother of the Year. Heather has taught classical ballet, piano, and organ, has directed a children’s singing group, and been PTA President. She has been a speaker at EFY, served as narrator for the Mesa Temple Easter Pageant, and plays the piano and organ for her church. Heather, and her husband, Paul, are parents to five children and have four granddaughters. Heather lives in Mesa, Arizona and loves tennis, swimming, the beach, mountains, and snow and waterskiing.

An icon in the entertainment industry, Bonnie has over 25 years of experience developing and imaging models, actors, and corporate executives worldwide. Her industry honors include recognition as the Best Eye for Talent and Director of the Year five times. Bonnie developed 42 Models of the Year and 45 Talents of the Year. Bonnie owned and managed Metcalf Modeling & Talent Agency, placing models and talent in magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Harpers, and in top echelon advertising campaigns for Armani, Ralph Lauren, Shesedo, and others. Corporate executives from Fortune 500 companies have relied on Bonnie for image consulting. She has six children and three grandchildren and is actively involved in the Young Women and Relief Society organizations.
Cindy Spencer ~ Team Building Specialist
Cindy is a cancer survivor of whose enthusiasm for life has always kept her involved in the community and local schools. A native of Salt Lake City, Cindy was head cheerleader at Skyline High School and later attended LDS Business College. After volunteering in the Emergency Room, Cindy decided to return to school to become a Registered Nurse. Cindy is married and has five children. She has been PTO President and has served as a Young Women’s leader for several years.
Lois Jean Spencer ~ School & Institute Teacher
Lois Jean graduated from BYU with a degree in Education and Music. She taught school in Illinois and piano and voice lessons in her home. Lois Jean has served as a Young Women’s President, Relief Society President, Stake Primary President, Seminary Teacher, and in various other callings over the years. She has been the Stake Institute Supervisor and an Institute Teacher, and is pursuing certification as a Life Coach. Lois Jean has served on staff for A New You: Retreat for Women. Lois Jean and her husband, Scott, have six sons, four daughters-in-law, and 13 precious grandchildren.

Jessica has been teaching crafters how to use their computers to tell their stories, edit their photos, and make beautiful projects since 2005. A winner of both the Memory Makers Masters and Creating Keepsakes Hall of Fame contests in 2006, she went on to become a contributing editor to Creating Keepsakes Magazine. Jessica is the author of Tricks for Scrapbooking (Volumes 1-3) and Stories in Hand: Crafting Your Lifestory. She also wrote a monthly Computer Tricks column in Creating Keepsakes Magazine for two years. She now runs the popular digital and hybrid scrapbooking education site that bears her name, JessicaSprague.com. Jessica currently resides in North Carolina with her family.
April Price & Rachel Stewart ~ Body Image Specialists
April and Rachel have shared their presentation, More Precious Than Rubies: Truths about Body Image in a World Full of Lies, with thousands of young women throughout the Southwest. Their presentation helps young women understand the tools they can use to defend themselves from the mass media’s false portrayals of healthy body image. April, a mother of four, graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Biology Teaching. She is a pediatric cancer survivor and an active fundraiser for cancer support efforts. She has served as president of both the Young Women and the Relief Society of her ward. Rachel is a wife and mother of four. She studied Political Science at the University of Arizona and is the COO of Titan Restoration of Arizona. She has served in the Primary, Sunday School, Relief Society, and Young Women’s organizations. Rachel loves challenges and her greatest attribute is her ability to approach life with happiness and optimism.

Heidi is a blogger, crafter, and scrapbooker who has a product line in craft stores. She runs Houseof3.com, a digital design website and store featuring Heidi’s stylish, creative work. She used her talents to create the graphic design of Time to Blossom’s original website and printed material. Heidi and her husband, Eric, have five adorable children.

Kori is a wife, mom of two adorable boys, and a stylist. Her main job is being a mommy, but on the side she does hair and makeup and absolutely loves it! She also “Shares Beauty” and loves helping others through inspiration and life stories on her blog, BeautyByKori.com. Kori is a huge believer in inner beauty and the happiness it brings. She grew up with four beautiful sisters and sometimes felt insecure standing next to them! Throughout her life, she came to realize and find out the importance of inner beauty and it is her goal to share that with others!
Julie Townsend ~ Author & Emmy Award-Winning Choreographer
Julie is the author of the popular book, The Totally Awesome You! Inside-Outside Teen Power Book. As a high school and university teacher with degrees in Marketing, Fashion, and a Master’s in Education, Julie has helped many teens discover their gorgeousness. Her artistic background covers years of working with teens in TV, stadium shows, and national educational workshops. Julie has produced fashion shows, has been a costumer for movies and TV, has been a makeup artist and wardrobe consultant, has modeled, and been in movies. She received the Spirit of the American Woman Award for Higher Education and is a Curriculum Writer for the Utah State Board of Education. Julie was first assistant choreographer and casting director, sharing an Emmy Award for the 2002 Olympic Games Ceremonies. Julie is the mother of five and grandmother of 15 from Farmington, Utah.
Leavitt is an award-winning professional music and entertainment photographer who has worked with the likes of Imagine Dragons, Lindsey Stirling, Blake Shelton, Twenty One Pilots, Luke Bryan, Donny & Marie Osmond, David Archuletta, All Time Low, Alex Boye, and many more. She has been published in Entertainment Weekly, Live Nation, Glamour Magazine, Life & Style, Phoenix New Times, and Lindsey Stirling’s New York Times Best Selling book, The Only Pirate at the Party. Leavitt was named as one of the top 20 concert and music photographers in Phoenix in 2015 and is the proud business owner of Leave it to Leavitt Photography. When she isn’t behind a camera, Leavitt can be found behind her computer editing or in her second favorite place, at the barn riding horses or mucking out their stalls. Leavitt was a counselor for Time to Blossom and loves to come back and help as a photographer or in various other capacities. Celestial began her career as a model represented by KSA and San Diego Model Management. Her love of painting and fashion led to an education with Lancôme and Chanel. After training with some of the best makeup artists in Los Angeles and Orange County, Celestial decided to create a name of her own as an independent makeup artist. After moving to Arizona in 2005, Celestial continued to exercise her passion for art and fashion as the Director of Styling for Phoenix Fashion Week in 2009 and 2010. A FORD/RBA model, Celestial employs her talent on both sides of the camera. As an uncompromising artist with a keen eye for detail, Celestial works with clients to create their perfect stories by translating their visions into the technical and artistic language of makeup artistry.
Carrie Wrigley ~ Education Week Speaker & Counselor
Carrie is a counselor, songwriter, and mother of five. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. Carrie worked as a counselor for LDS Family Services for nearly 20 years and then opened her own private practice, Morning Light Counseling, in 2009. She has been writing music for over 30 years and produced three CD’s, plus many additional songs, hymn arrangements, and programs. Carrie is a popular presenter, having taught at BYU Education Week and elsewhere.
Nanci Wudel ~ Director & Producer
Nanci directed the Mesa Arizona Easter Pageant for nine years and has directed The Finalists Show for NBC’s America’s Got Talent. She wrote, directed, and produced the DVD, Manners for Missionaries…and Everyone Else!. Nanci also served as Director of Etiquette and Personal Development at the Provo MTC, and has been a speaker at EFY. Nanci serves as a public relations and etiquette consultant for businesses and universities throughout the United States, serves on the National Advisory Council of Southern Virginia University, and judges state competitions for the Miss America Pageant. Nanci has been listed twice in Outstanding Young Women of America and was Utah’s Honor Young Mother of the Year. She holds a Journalism Degree with a Minor in Theater Arts from BYU.
